The New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED) runs New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship. For established New Mexico residents enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at a New Mexico public college or university toward a certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree. Your school's financial aid office awards the scholarship; complete the FAFSA as well for Pell and other aid. Former Lottery Scholarship students may qualify with at least 6 credit hours and a 2.5 cumulative GPA going forward.
