Eligibility (UF SFA scholarships page; checked 2026-09-07): “Sunshine Tuition Scholarship”. UF out-of-state merit-based tuition scholarships. There is not a separate scholarship application — all admitted students who apply by the November 1 freshman admission priority deadline are considered. Recipients are selected by a committee each spring and notified by mid-March. If a student’s residency is updated to in-state for tuition purposes after being awarded a merit-based tuition scholarship, they will no longer be eligible and the award will be cancelled. Out-of-state tuition scholarships cannot be combined with another out-of-state tuition scholarship.
